Randoms

Oh hi. Yes, I'm alive. And yes, I am fully aware that I suck at blogging. Anyway...if all of the craziness of the end of semester hadn't been apparent it definitely was when I walked into my first class this morning. There was some intense, nasty b.o. of someone who I'm sure had a fine excuse for not showering, such as: pulling an all-nighter because of gay projects, kissing, eating, or doing anything you can possibly do to procrastinate everything the end of semester brings. Moving on...

I only have a few minutes to post this (because of the above reasons). So I just thought I'd share a few random things from my today...

  • I'm wearing my little sister's sweater today. Shoot me. Yes, she is 12.
  • I walked out to a parking ticket on my car. I would have been mad butttttt I have parked in faculty parking for the last month basically and haven't gotten a ticket until today. With this fabulous parking I was able to get to class in 1 minute. As opposed to a 10 minute walk in the freezing cold that feels like a 2 hour walk. All for ten bucks. Worth it.
  • Sometimes, I hate being a girl. Like today. And yesterday. Although, 94 percent of the time I enjoy being a girl.
  • My right nostril is extremely runny today. My left? Completely normal. Semi-annoying. Actually, very annoying.
Alright, peace out blog world. Maybe I'll blog more.

Rainy/Sick Days

Soooo I lost my voice. Completely gone. I can't talk at all. Plus, I've got a head cold bbbuuuttt I'm actually kind of enjoying today because I got my paper done (maybe I started it at 3:30 a.m. this morning) and turned in this morning, aced my quiz and called in sick for work, seeing as though I can barely say a word and am blowing my nose every 1.29274 seconds. So here I am. Lying in bed. Watching My Sister's Keeper and will probably shed a few tears through the movie.

Who cares if I'm sick?? It gives me an excuse to be lazy and enjoy the rainy day :)

Happy Monday friends!

So what if I went to campus in the same shirt from yesterday and did not even touch my hair. :)

Zipper Problems

So I've had this problem for quite some time now. Sometimes, I forget to zip up my zipper. Sometimes, I choose to forget to zip it up at the best times. Such as...

--When meeting the parents of a guy I was dating at the time...
--Job interview...
--Bringing cookies to a friend to say "Thank you" but in the end feeling awkward because I noticed while I was at his place.
--While hosting a party for my old job with about 50 people in attendance.
--While on a band trip, on the bus, while reaching in the overhead bin. Making it fairly obvious for onlookers.
--Random times while on campus I do my whole "zip check" and then the humiliation sets in.

OOPS! :) I hope that my stupidity makes you smile!

P.S. I've seen on a few people's blogs that at the end of every post they write things they are grateful for and with the season of gratitude approaching I want to start that :) Here goes it!

1) My car. I had to drop it off and get it fixed today and realized that I take for granted having a car all the time.
2) New friends. I've made some really awesome new friends and am having a lot of fun :)
3) The lack of ferrets in my apartment as of today!!!!!!! BOOM BABY!

Hilarious.

So I was on the phone with my sister tonight and typically I'll ask if I can talk to Claire but she usually always denies me. I used to babysit Claire my freshman year when she was a little baby. Now she's two years old and has changed so much! Anyyyway. Tonight she decided to talk to me. Laurel said she was in a very chipper mood this evening. Haha It was a priceless conversation. A few of the conversations went like this...

Alicia: "Claire, who is your favorite aunt?" (Gotta ingrain it in their heads at an early age people)
Claire: "Alicia!!! We don't have ants!! There aren't any ants in our house!!!" (She was appauled that I would think such a nasty thought.)

Later on in the conversation...

Laurel in the background asked her to ask me what I was going to be for Halloween....
Claire: (She ignored the asking and just went straight to what she thought I was going to be) "Alicia, you are going to be a princess. You are going to be a lovely princess. Yes, a lovely princess."

She's so dang cute!!

I miss all of my nieces and nephews!! I wish I could be around them all more often! I have to make sure they are correct on their favorite aunt! ;)

Fur Elise

Dear person in JKB playing Fur Elise,

First, I think you forgot that you are on campus, in a building where people are trying to study, listen to lectures, Facebook, and blog stalk. Let me remind you that playing the piano at 9:30 a.m. on a Friday is not a good idea. I know PLENTY of spots on campus where you can politely play the piano and enjoy yourself :). The JKB is NOT one of them. Thank you.

Second, please learn the song. Instead of playing the same four lines over again. Seeerrriously. It's getting a little old.

Sincerely, your fellow bugged classmates at BYU.

Yes, I know I can just move but I am comfy in this chair and do not want to move until my class starts.

My Bedroom

So I've been working on my bedroom now for over a month and have been really lazy about getting it done. I painted it a few weeks ago and have had bare walls since then. But tonight I've decided I'm going to get it done. I'm almost done with painting my bedspread, yes, painting my bedspread. Sounds crazy but I like it. I finally put up curtains, my mirror, pictures, and have been having these constant brainstorming ideas come into my head of what I'm going to do with my room. I'm so excited!! I posted a small picture of part of the bedspread. I couldn't find one that I liked so I decided to make one, with a little help from my sister :). Laurel sent me a picture of that flower, in a smaller version. With a lot of help from a friend, we blew up the picture onto a poster board and cut out the flower with an exacto knife to create a stencil. Then painted it onto a sheet, which I will sew another sheet to it, making a duvet cover. It is kinda confusing and I'm sure none of you care but I'm really excited about it, if you couldn't tell :). I can't wait to have it all finished and actually have a room that is homey!! When I'm done I will post before and after pictures. I can't guarantee when that will be, but hopefully soon. I'm sure you all are dying to find out what it looks like. Not. Haha

Anyway, I hope you all are having a fabulous day! Thanks for reading!

Gratitude

These past few days I have felt so incredibly blessed. I probably sound dramatic but the past week has been a little rough. However, I have such a wonderful family, friends, and Savior that have helped me so much. I feel like I take all of my relationships for granted. Especially my relationship with my Heavenly Father. I cannot tell you the comfort I have instantly felt from Him.
I've kind of felt like I have abandoned my friends for the past year but luckily they are very forgiving :) and they all have been soo wonderful. I have gotten texts from friends just asking how I was doing or just saying that they were there for me.
I know this is such a small little bleep in my life and I know I have much harder trials in life ahead of me. I am so glad I have everyone in my life there for me. I hope and pray that I can be a friend to all of them just as they are to me.

Here are a few pictures of a few of the fabulous people in my life...
This is my wonderful family. This picture is current as of right now but not for long...(Laurel is having a baby girl any day now!!) My family is so awesome and I wouldn't trade them for anything. My dad gave me a blessing last week and I am so grateful to be able to have a father who is a worthy priesthood holder to give me a blessing whenever I need one.
This girl is amazing. I have lived with her for three years now and between us and our roommates, breaking up is not uncommon in the household. One night she came home with all the break-up food and canceled a date or two to be home with me. Thanks Lins!

This is Brit and I. We've been best friends since we were four and hopefully forever. Thanks for being there for me Brit! I love you!

Last, but most definitely not least is my Savior, Jesus Christ. I have spent many times on my knees with Him just listening to me cry and ask for help. He is not only a great listener but a great comforter.
I wish I could make this not so "all encompassing" but I really want to thank everyone. I love you all and thank you for your love and support.

Love, Leash

New Diet

The best way to diet is to go through a break-up. Profound words from my sister. :)

Summer, summer, summer....

Summer is here!! I couldn't be happier! School is finally out and I'm now working two part time jobs. I recently got a gym membership and Ryan and I have gone to the gym 5 times this week!!! That's five more times than I have ever gone to the gym! Haha This is a first time gym attending for me and I am very excited about getting into shape this summer :)

Anywho...so Ryan and I left to go to good ol' Sacramento right after finals ended. We had such a fun time!!! I got to meet Ryan's family. They were so welcoming and very sweet to me. His dad cooked us dinner almost every night we were there and his mom made sure I felt at home. We got to spend some time with Ryan's friends, specifically Savannah and Tanner. Savannah grew up next to Ryan and Tanner and Ryan became really good friends after Ryan's mission. They are such a fun couple to hang out with and we had a good time with them.

The third day we were there we got to go to San Francisco!! My best friend, Brittany Barto works for Delta and gets free flights so she came into Sacramento the night before and went with us to San Fran. I loved San Francisco! It is such a fun city. We got to go to the Warf, Lombard Street, walk along the golden gate bridge, go to the golden gate park, see the ocean, go to the Muir Redwoods, and go to the top of Mount Tan (I can't remember the full word haha). We had a great time!! Brittany kept insisting on doing a "documenetary" (She could never figure out how to say documentary haha) of Ryan and I the whole trip. So we got some pretty cheesy, cutesy pictures. Speaking of pictures.... So I got a new camera for my birthday and I brought it on the trip bbbuuut for some reason it decided to delete all but the pictures of us four-wheeling. Soooo I don't really have any pictures of the trip. It still makes me sick that I lost them all :( But what can ya do! Anywho....on the trip we also got to go to Lake Folsom and soaked in the warm weather :). We also went four-wheeling with Ryan and Tanner's trucks up by Lake Folsom. Overall the trip was so much fun! It was fun seeing where Ryan grew up and hear funny stories about when Ryan was younger.

I'm excited for all the fun plans that we have this summer! It's going to be a great summer :)

So I'll post a couple pictures of the cheesy/happy pictures Brit took of us in San Fran, seeing as though those are the only pictures I have :(

It was such a nice day when we went! A little foggy but I think that's how it normally is

Ryan and I at Pier 39. Apparently Ryan was feeling a model pose when the picture was taken :)

School is almost over!!!!

So I'm almost done with my second year here at the good ol' Brig. This year has been awesome! I've learned a ton. In and out of school. I've had wonderful roommates and we've all gotten along well. Some might say I should have studied more but whatever. C's get degrees, that's my motto :) Anyway to close up the year (well and it was my roommate's boyfriend's birthday) my roommates and the three boyfriends all got together and made dinner, chatted, played games, and watched friends. All of us roommates have boyfriends. It's actually really fun. It makes for less awkward situations with PDA ;) Anyway we had lots of fun! All of us had a part in cooking and cleaning (the boys were very helpful too!!). After dinner we all sat around the table telling everyone's first impressions of everyone and sharing funny relationship stories. Then we played team Scategories. Ryan and I won :) Then we ended with watching the TV show, Friends. Here at G7, Friends is ALWAYS on. We are obsessed. We have all the seasons. So since there are six of us all together, we have all picked up a friend's character. I'll name all the characters down below...

Anyway so here are a few pictures of our date night

This is right after we cooked everything. So good!!

I like how Ryan and I are the only ones making silly/ugly faces :)

The self timer didn't do a great job at cutting out the drinks....

Only one more class left of the semester!! Then finals and right after finals end Ryan and I are headed to CALIFORNIA!! So excited!

Goodbye for now :)

Sometimes I wish....

  • My roommates would clean more.
  • For better grades
  • I always thought positively of people
  • I had more money
  • I was more outgoing
  • I was done with school

But, I'm not perfect nor is any other mortal being here on earth.

Happiness

So on my friend's blog she posted 10 things that make her happy. I liked the idea and decided to do it :) So here is my list....

1. CLEAN apartment :) I swear my apartment gets dirty sooo fast and I just love when it's squeaky clean :)
2. Visiting my home. I live close to home so I get to go home a lot. Every time I go up I am always greeted with hugs from my family members as well as groceries, advice from my wonderful father and mother, a very good dinner, and lots of other glorious things. I love home :)
3. Having a productive day makes me happy. I find myself wasting time on facebook, blog stalking, and other meaningless time wasters and I like when I put that off and do other productive and fun things.
4. Looking at old pictures and realizing how many awesome fun times I've had in my 19, almost 20, years of life.
5. Doing crafts. I love going to DI and getting old things and making them cute and looking new :) I also like to sew (when I get the time).
6. Little notes from anyone. Any kind of little note or letter makes me feel wonderful.
7. Making someone's day or participating in some sort of service for someone
8. Being in love. It's pretty fun. You should try it.
9. Running into an old friend and catching up on life
10. My ipod. There are times I'll be walking to school or driving to work and a song comes on that I love and it always makes me very happy. :) Music can always make my day.

The end!! Life is wonderful and I am grateful for all the wonderful people in my life.

BYU Winter Adventures

Well hi. Here I am again. I'm really good at this blogging stuff. Anyway, life is going just dandy. I've been keeping pretty busy with work and school. I loooove my job!!! I get to work with crafts allll day :) And I work with really fun people, for the most part. School is blah. I have been studying really hard for my midterms and then I do poorly. Which is very frustrating. Statistics is kicking my butt but I'll live. Anyway, I'm still dating this Ryan fella, if you couldn't tell (p.s. all my pictures are with him. We are with each other often. Very often) haha anyway so yeah...I wish I could become more regular with my blog and I could actually use it as a journal more just not an update but maybe someday...So here are some pictures of some fun things that we've been up to lately.

Oh and they are not in order of occurrence. I am failing in my blog pictures upload. It's weird to me.

So up in Midway they had these ice castles where there were ice castles 30-40 feet high!! They were so amazing! Check out the blog where it tells more about them. brentsicecastle.blogspot.com :)

Here's Ryan and I in front of the biggest castle. They had a little tunnel that you could go inside. So cool!!

So my co-worker told me about this cool blog that is a baking website (bakerella.com) where they make cake balls, cake pops, and fun things like that. Naturally, we had to try one out! So we decided to make some fun smiley face cake balls. This is Ryan and I having fun cooking in our cute aprons :)

Here is the end result!! These are the first ones so they don't look very good but they were lots of fun to make!!

Out of order....but anyway this is us in the middle of our cooking fest

Roommate date night! My roommates boyfriend lives in Highland and so we all got together ordered pizza, played games, and watched a movie. It was so fun!! This is a picture of the domino creation we made.

Soon after we finished eating the boys got side tracked with playing video games. So....

Us girls started playing dominos!

For Martin Luther King Day Ryan and I went down to St. George and visited his mission buddies and also visited a couple of my good friends, Amanda and Sydney.
This picture is Ryan and I in the little mini narrows by the Dixie Rock.

We went glow sticking in a cave while we were there! It was so much fun! For those of you who don't know what it is, it is where you open up glow sticks and flick them all over you and wherever you are, we did the cave, and then play hide and go seek or some fun game. I recommend it.

While my brother's family was in town they came down to Provo and we all went to a BYU Basketball game. After the game we came back to my apartment and had ice cream cones. It was fun having them come down and see where I live.

Ryan's friends, Tanner and Savannah came to visit and we went snowboarding with them. We didn't get a good picture with all four of us but here is the one of Ryan and I about to snowboard.

Another roommate date night right before Meg left. We went to a chinese restaurant and had a lot of good laughs. Good times!

Goodbye for now!
