LONDON

I am here in London town!!! It's such a beautiful city filled with fabulous architecture, museums, shops, and many many other lovely things. I got here last Saturday after a week in Paris. Before I talk about London I want to share 8 things I learned/noticed about Paris

1. The Eiffel Tower is MUCH bigger in person. And gorgeous lit up and sparkling :) Probably one of my favorite parts.
2. The underground metro is simply amazing. You can get anywhere and the stops are literally on every corner!
3. The little baguette shops are so cute and we got at least one pastry every day....;)
4. The Mona Lisa is a bit smaller than I expected. However, still very cool to see it in person.
5. The Pompidou Museum had a whole chunk of the art that I have studied in school. Nothing better than seeing the art you have studied or replicated in person.
6. Trying to skip down a few set of spiral stairs in tight pants is not as glamorous as it sounds. It may cause a ginormous rip down the middle of your pants and a few passerby's giggle.
7. DO NOT book a trip to London a few days before departing. The ticket may cost over $200. I learned this the hard way.
8. There are so many cute little parks in France. Almost everyday we made a stop in a gorgeous garden or park. So fun to enjoy a nutella crepe surrounded by lovely manicured gardens.

We had a blast in Paris. Sydney and Ben were so gracious to have Brittany and I stay at their flat during our vacation.

After missing my train to get to London and waiting in the station for a few hours, I made it to London! I got in and dropped off my bags and went into the city. My first impression of London was coming out of the Tube station seeing a naked bike ride parade. Quite the first impression! Haha it was quite different but we had a good giggle out of it.

I've done some sight seeing, still have TONS more to do, but mostly been focusing on getting settled and learning my new internship position. I am working for an interior design shop called Helen Reed Designs. It is NOTHING like I expected. In a good way :). Some days I kind of feel like I stepped into the movie The Devil Wears Prada, because my boss is kinda similar :S, she is a bit nicer though. It's been a little bit of an adjustment but ready or not here I come! This is going to be an experience of a lifetime and I am very excited about learning and growing. I miss home a little bit, some times more than others, but hopefully I will get used to being on my own in due time. I am off to go out with some friends but I will post pictures later.

Finally

The time has now come my friends. I could not be more excited/scared/nervous/anxious/thrilled to be going to London. This has been a long time coming...The idea of doing an internship abroad came into my head about a year ago and went undergo in December. Since then, I have had so many ups and downs about this whole thing. Between the cost, not finding out where I am working until three weeks before, visa shtuff, hours and hours of phone calls, school lectures and prep courses for going abroad, and many, many other things, this has been a LONG time coming.

Needless to say, I feel so blessed to be able to be in the position to participate in this experience. I know this will be such a big learning experience and I am ready to start on this big adventure.

Apology

Please excuse my last post. It was just one of those days and I felt like being dramatic about it, apparently blogging was my escape. This post I decided to do the opposite as my last and write a list of a few things I am grateful for, especially things I noticed this week.

• THE LOVELY SUMMER WEATHER!!!! Words cannot describe how much I am adoring this weather. This week I went on a bike ride, had a campfire, went on multiple walks, had picnics, and just enjoyed the being outside.
• My parents are amazing. You never really realize how much they do for you until you move away. I took my dad's car to Provo the other day, came back and my dad fixed my car. He didn't even flaunt about it either. I noticed when I drove in it the next time. My parents are not controlling, nor pushy, but I love how my dad still gets worried when I'm out late {probably should work on getting in earlier :/....}.
• I love that my mom taught is teaching me to sew. She helped me fix two coworkers dresses this week.
• I love my home ward. It is so awesome to come back after being away for a while and catching up with old leaders and old friends. Love them :)
• I am grateful for living in a home with endless amounts of crafting supplies. This week I made some earrings out of fabric, tinsel, and beads. All freeeeeee :) (for me at least..)

Today.

I hate starting every post with a "ah! It's been so long since I last posted! I promise I am going to blog more, blah, blah, blah". So I'm not going to. Instead I am going to blog about today. Because it would be impossible to try and recap the last...oh four months or so :)

So you see. Today started out great. Got to sleep in my parents bed... And then it turned to the dark side. And I am using my blog as a venting place so if you don't want to hear me vent you can stop reading....NOW. 

Today I did many things. First I got in a big honkin' fight with my older sister about stupid things that shouldn't matter. Minutes later I found out I still HAVE NOT been placed for a job in London (mind you I am leaving in three weeks and still have no idea where I am going. Fabulous).  Then I spent the first hour of work on the phone because of above said things, and therefore, it was at the forefront of my mind and I was basically on the verge of tears all day at work. Once again, fabulous. Don't worry there is more to my pathetic pity-me-day...then I got a text saying the person who was taking over my housing contract backed out. Love my life. Last but not least, as I was just about to leave to head down to go see a cute boyyyy in P-town my padre calls and asks if I would stay home to play chauffeur for my little sister.

...all of these items probably should not make me cry, lay on the couch, eat chocolate, and vegetate the rest of the night. But they did. And here I am blogging about my pathetic life. 

 Please tell me I am not the only one with these kinds of days.

(I probably should add that Aunt Flow is in town for a few days. I think some of you might have noticed she was visiting) :)

Christmas Break

10 reasons why the break was AMAZING

1. I got to meet this cute chicka

2. There was a lot of this that went on....

3. I got to spend a lot of time with my wonderful family. Everyone but Elena and Andrew were able to make it. We missed you and your family, Lena!!

4. We had a reunion with all of our high school friends. Some of them I hadn't seen since high school and it was almost like nothing had changed. It was great :)

5. I ate wway too much food but enjoyed every minute of it :)

6. Caught up with some people from my ward. Maybe even ditched Sunday School to catch up with my old young women leader.... :)

7. Figured out I am going to be going to London in June for my internship!!!!

8. Got some money to put in my piggy bank for said internship...

9. Laughed. A lot.

10. Lastly, this Christmas break was just another reminder of how incredibly blessed I am and how many wonderful people are in my life. Life is great :)

Randoms

Oh hi. Yes, I'm alive. And yes, I am fully aware that I suck at blogging. Anyway...if all of the craziness of the end of semester hadn't been apparent it definitely was when I walked into my first class this morning. There was some intense, nasty b.o. of someone who I'm sure had a fine excuse for not showering, such as: pulling an all-nighter because of gay projects, kissing, eating, or doing anything you can possibly do to procrastinate everything the end of semester brings. Moving on...

I only have a few minutes to post this (because of the above reasons). So I just thought I'd share a few random things from my today...

• I'm wearing my little sister's sweater today. Shoot me. Yes, she is 12.
• I walked out to a parking ticket on my car. I would have been mad butttttt I have parked in faculty parking for the last month basically and haven't gotten a ticket until today. With this fabulous parking I was able to get to class in 1 minute. As opposed to a 10 minute walk in the freezing cold that feels like a 2 hour walk. All for ten bucks. Worth it.
• Sometimes, I hate being a girl. Like today. And yesterday. Although, 94 percent of the time I enjoy being a girl.
• My right nostril is extremely runny today. My left? Completely normal. Semi-annoying. Actually, very annoying.

Rainy/Sick Days

Soooo I lost my voice. Completely gone. I can't talk at all. Plus, I've got a head cold bbbuuuttt I'm actually kind of enjoying today because I got my paper done (maybe I started it at 3:30 a.m. this morning) and turned in this morning, aced my quiz and called in sick for work, seeing as though I can barely say a word and am blowing my nose every 1.29274 seconds. So here I am. Lying in bed. Watching My Sister's Keeper and will probably shed a few tears through the movie.

Who cares if I'm sick?? It gives me an excuse to be lazy and enjoy the rainy day :)
